Christian community in a small group is a powerful way to experience belonging and authentic community. We want Quest to be a place where no one stands alone, but are connected and growing together.
WHAT'S A LIFE GROUP?
Life Groups form around a common interest to spiritually grow together. Groups:
- Share an interest or passion
- Engage Scripture and prayer
- Meet 2-4x a month in any location
- Are led by a trained leader
- Commit to the Open Chair Policy
- Have 7-12 people
WHAT DOES A COMMON INTEREST GROUP LOOK LIKE?
Groups form around a common interest or passion but always include some elements of Scripture and prayer that aim people at Jesus. Common interests include walking, fitness, hunting, scrapbooking, fishing, cooking, Bible study, book study, entrepreneurship, cosplay, board games, accountability - you name it! Groups can form around just about anything that wouldn’t make Jesus grumpy. Groups can be co-ed or single sex, multigenerational or age specific, teens or adults, etc. Groups can meet anywhere!
WHO CAN LEAD A LIFE GROUP?
Life Groups can be led by anyone who’s an active part of Quest Church and receives Life Group training from the Director of Discipleship. Leaders are typically recruited in late summer and early fall. If you’re curious about being a Life Group Leader, contact Angel Taylor (email@example.com) or Pastor Casey (firstname.lastname@example.org).
WHAT'S THE TIME COMMITMENT?
Groups commit to being together October 1 through May 1. Groups should meet 2-4x each month (so weekly or biweekly). But there’s nothing stopping you from being in more than one group!
WHAT'S THE OPEN CHAIR POLICY?
The Open Chair Policy encourages Life Groups to always have “an open chair” for new people and actively invite others to join in. However, groups should not grow beyond 12 people.
WHEN CAN I SIGN UP?
Registration begins in September but if you’re interested in leading a Life Group, contact us now! New people can sign up anytime between October 1 and May 1.
